Security is everyone's business. Some people have the thought that having the strongest antivirus software is the only means to protect the system from cybersecurity threats. However, there is more needed to have a secure system than purchasing Antivirus. Knowing how to identify common cybersecurity threats is the first step in avoiding attacks, so it's ideal to know and understand how some of the cyber threats functions in order to have a strong security system.
Malware is a malicious software which posses a great threat to computer system. Two major types of malware are viruses and ransomware, which also includes Trojans and spyware. It can be difficult to detect spyware if the predator is simply taking data without making visible alterations to any of your files, systems or software. Spyware infiltration can cause a ton of damage and potentially impose legal implications to the organization if the clients’ sensitive information is compromised and possibly used in a way that causes them harm.
The best way to avoid malware starts by installing protective software, avoid downloading suspicious files or software from the internet. People should be trained to avoid downloading unauthorized files and enforce personal rules against downloading music, computer games and any other files from the web that is not verifiable.
